Automotive Brake Service in Mississauga, Milton & Oakville

Brake service is different for every model of car out there. As your brakes are used depending on your driving habits, brake service is a performance-based type of maintenance where the timing and longevity of your brakes will depend on your driving style, the type of components you have on your vehicle and the design of your vehicle.

It all comes down to the level of wear on your brake system, which is affected by your driving style, weather conditions and many other things.

To learn whether your brakes need service, have your vehicle inspected at Halton Auto Service & Transmission regularly. You can do it at certain intervals, like every 10,000 km, or have your service technician check your brakes during an oil change

These are the typical intervals we see for brakes:

Brake pad and shoe replacement (between every 40,000 km and 100,000 km)
Brake rotor machine-polishing or replacement (done at the time of brake pad replacement)
Brake caliper or caliper pin replacement as necessary
Brake fluid flush (every 2 years or 40,000 km or as per your vehicle manufacturer’s requirements)

Brake Fluid Flush

Brake fluid is essential for the effectiveness of your brakes—it’s what creates the pressure on your brake pads and creates the contact with your brake rotors. This contact makes your vehicle stop. Over time, brake fluid becomes contaminated with air, moisture and foreign particles and needs to be flushed and replaced with new fluid.

If you find your car isn’t stopping as quickly, or you need to apply more pressure than you’re used to and/or your brake fluid wasn’t changed over the past 60,000km, bring your car, SUV or truck to Halton Auto Service & Transmission. We use products that meet or exceed your vehicle manufacturer’s requirements and replace 100% of your old brake fluid.
